About Us

Butler County, the largest county in Kansas, is east of Wichita and Sedgwick County Kansas.
Truly the crossroads of America with seven major highways. Highways: Turnpike I-35, Hwy 77, Hwy 177, Hwy 54, Hwy 254, Hwy 400 and Hwy 196.
The charming towns make interesting stops for a few hours or days. The county is the Southern edge of the prairie grass Flint Hills. From Spring to Fall you will see herds of cattle dotting the hills to feed on this wholesome grass.

Tour Butler County is an all volunteer group established in 1994, that researched the attractions, monuments, historic sites, museums, galleries, accommodations, restaurants, antique shops and recreation opportunities in every community and area of Butler County which would be of interest to a visitor/tourist to be published in a "tour planner".

Our brochure and website suggests self guided tours based on what you want to do and see; or call 1-800-278-3697 and set up a tour with Jean who states, "It's amazing the number of out-of-the-way places you can spend hours visiting in the Flint Hills and plains of our county."
